Costa Rica in 2005.
In the Spring of 2005, junior year of high school actually, I spent two weeks traveling around Costa Rica with a group of fellow students. I had just changed schools, from the public high school Cactus Shadows to a small charter school called Foothills Academy. Fourteen of us, about half of my graduating class, spent the days that were supposed to serve as a Spanish language immersion taking full advantage of lower and more relaxed drinking laws. I also took a few photos during the trip, one of which is still my favorite of all of my photos. The little girl wearing a yellow raincoat on the bridge is the pinnacle of my photographic repertoire, and was arguably the first decent photo I ever took. Funny, I think.
